United looking their old selves

UNITED boss John Queen is "starting to look forward to every game," now that his team have shown signs of a return to form.

The Cumbernauld side's results have been somewhat hot and cold this season as injuries, suspensions and notable absences have hampered their progress.

However, after strong showings against top two Whitletts Victoria and Clydebank in recent weeks, things are looking up at Guy's Meadow.

Queen said: "We made a conscious decision a couple of weeks ago to keep playing our short, sharp, pressing style of football, despite what we're facing in this league.

"The last few weeks we've been getting back up to the level we need to be at. We're starting to look forward to every game now because we're playing the way we know we can play and look like our ourselves again, like the Cumbernauld team that won the league last year.

"I know we're starting to motor and get a bit of momentum going, maybe the only thing we've lacked a bit of is luck recently."

And luck certainly wasn't with the men in claret and sky blue on Saturday. With 15 minutes to go, United led Clydebank 3-1, but only walked away from the clash with a point come full-time.
