Tom Scott Road Race postponed due to Coronavirus

Bobby Hill of organisers Law and District AAC said that plans were being put in place to run the race in August or September instead if possible.

“Despite this, it is heartening that we have had total and absolute support from our entrants since the decision was announced, with a great many resolving to return on the rearranged date.”
Tom Scott was an Olympic contender for a marathon place in the British Olympic Team and often competed in major races throughout Great Britain.
He could be seen most days running to and from his workplace in Motherwell. Unfortunately he was killed in a motoring accident on March 31, 1961 on his way to an athletic event in England.
