Hopes are raised for Carluke’s historic High Mill
The High Mill Steering Group, formed by Carluke Development Trust, released a statement to the Gazette following a meeting of the group.
It said: “Recommendations have been put forward for potential funding sources to help stabilise the structure in the short term, while negotiations are taking place regarding access to the land for more permanent repairs and development.

The partial collapse of High Mill last month saw an unprecedented level of interest in the 300-year-old structure – many people were concerned time was running out to save it.
Steering group members are hopeful that a public meeting will be called in April with an architect present to discuss the various options available.
